The Uyghur Holy Book Society was founded and has been serving with the intention of translating the Bible into modern Uyghur. Uyghur writers, editors, linguists, and many other native speakers have contributed to this effort, working alongside experts in Bible translation, Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek.
The important work of translating the Holy Book into Uyghur began over 25 years ago. In 2005, they celebrated the completion of the New Testament. Presently, they are working on translating the Old Testament.
